It has finally rained! Frogs are out

Ornate Burrowing Frog (Platyplectrum ornatum)

This week we have finally received some decent rain after a Very long wait since February. So far we have recorded

During the week 22mm accumulated

Friday 23rd  13mm

Sunday 25th 46mm overnight

Tuesday 27th 1 inch

Everything has started to green up already which is really amazing and we have water in Frog Dam, Wallaby Waterhole, the Back Dam and in pockets of water in the creek.

The frogs are out and I only managed to photograph 4 species so far, however I used the Frog ID app for the first time and was blown away by the records collated from the frog calls. I will add these to this blog once my selections are confirmed. It also picked up a few species that we suspect we have here but haven’t ever confirmed!
