While we have seen these little scorpions on occasion over the years at Jarowair, I have never stopped and photographed one. This little guy was cruising around on the front path late one night. I have identified it as the classification of "Mottled Scorpion", however there are three species of Mottled Scorpions in South-East Queensland, being the Lychas, Isometrus and Cercophonius spp, which requires knowledge from an expert to determine which one they are.
Mottled Scorpions are found in moist forest areas and gardens. The Sting is not known to be dangerous - just painful!
