We had our first visit from a flock of Double-barred Finches (Taeniopygia bichenovii) to a grevillia tree in the garden that has a conveniently placed bird bath underneath. It was a delight to see them for a couple of days visiting the garden during the terrible dry conditions - obviously looking for water. We delighted in watching them dash to and from the bird bath back to the thick grevillia tree for safety. They were only present for a couple of days. The photos are dreadful but I had to document them!
