Bert the Tawny Frogmouth

Last Summer (December 2017) I hand-raised five orphaned baby Tawny Frogmouth birds from little fluff balls to large birds who went on to survive on their own in the wild.  As it happens most years, one of the tawny's loved it here so much, he decided to hang around.  Bert the Tawny is fully self-sufficient, however he still visits us for an occasional mouse treat for dinner and often chooses to sleep during the day (Tawny Frogmouths are nocturnal Australian Birds) on strange places - like on the outside lights of the house, or on the bucket of the tractor!!  (see video below).  Bert has become part of the family and is pretty popular with guests.  We noticed that all of our instagram posts that were about him were very popular - so we decided he could do with his own Instagram profile... so Bert the Tawny was created!  We would love you to check out the videos below and follow Bert's adventures on Instagram here:  https://www.instagram.com/bertthetawny/  Thank you to all of our readers for your continued support of our wildlife rehabilitation and habitat rejuvenation projects.
