While driving in the driveway at Jarowair this morning, I witnessed a Kookaburra swoop down to the front lawn and pick up an Eastern Brown Snake (abt 1m length) and fly up to a branch in a close by iron bark tree. I pulled up and grabbed by little "handbag camera" and was able to get a photo before it flew off with its prize. It was a fantastic sight! J.G.
Wow Judith, what a great catch by both you and the Kookaburra. Having the handbag camera captured the scene really well. Thanks for showing this. Cheers, Richard
ReplyDeleteThanks Richard, it was one of those moments where I was hoping I could get the camera out quick enough - and that it wouldn't have a flat battery! I think I only got two photos and this was the best one - he didn't hang around long. Gotta love their amazing eyesight! Thanks for your comment.
