We had our first visit from one during the week! The possums were all making a terrible noise and Brendon went out to see what was the matter, sure enough a huge Powerful Owl on a low branch eyeing off one of the smaller possums, who went and hid between a post and the wire of the chook pen. We didn't have a camera to get a pic but had good look at the owl with the torches. Although I love Powerful Owls, I have been pleased not to have them here before as we love our gliders and possums! The Owl in question flew off empty handed, but I guess it will be back :(Judi Grayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01542076179658846198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126327622898302005.post-54693604145531672442015-06-01T20:54:22.413+10:002015-06-01T20:54:22.413+10:00Absolute classics! We do have possums on our block but they are seen rarely and we don't have many hollows for them to sleep in.

I presume that you don't have Powerful Owls in the area: the one that has taken up residence in central Canberra for the last 6 months appears to dine about every second day. Given its huge territory it has got a large supply of victims.

MartinFlabmeisterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00934077052437339591noreply@blogger.com
