"Blue Spotted" Green Tree Frog 07/12/08

Green Tree Frog in the Rain Gauge

This Beautiful Green Tree Frog with blue spots was found in the Rain Gauge at Jarowair.  We at first thought it had come in contact with something, but couldn't work out for the life of us what... after a lot of research we found that it is common for the Common Green Tree Frog to be Blue or have blue spots, or blue with green spots.  Just Beautiful.

Eastern Brown Snake devouring a misfortunate Bearded Dragon, 08/02/08

08th February 2008

EASTERN BROWN SNAKE EATING BEARDED DRAGON

Brendon stumbled upon this Eastern Brown Snake devouring a Bearded Dragon while walking through the dry creek bed at Jarowair on the 8th of February 2008.  The snake was located under a very large log in the creek, and as it's mouth was full, we were able to take a few photos and video from a reasonably close position.  Will have a look for the video and post that also.

Wasps Nest in Rock Crevice

27th January 2008

WASPS NEST IN ROCK CREVICE

These Wasps have decided to make a nest in a crevice between some rocks on the edge of the creek bank, where we walk regularly to access the dam.  They don't seem too bothered by us when we walk past, but we have moved our track a little north just to be sure.  I believe they are Native Paper Wasps.
